Cry Out To The Lord: Luke 18:35-43 KJV

And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36   And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37  And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38  And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 39  And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.   And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41  Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42  And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43  And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God. The story of the blind man indicates many in our world today crying out for help; the questi...

A Healing of a Nation: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Our nation, our world, is in chaos and needs healing, so join me in a worldwide prayer asking God to heal our land. There is so much devastation. Everywhere you look, there is devastation, flooding in one area, fires burning out of control, hurricanes recking havoc that will take months if not years to recover. This scene is on display throughout the world. I receive notices of flooding in other parts of our world. Hunger and diseases are ravaging the country, fighting in other parts of the world.  People, we need to turn back to God.  We are members of the human race created in the image and likeness of God; therefore, let us pray for and love one another. This nation has many sins it needs to be forgiven for; therefore, let us humble ourselves before th...

Confidence in the Lord: Psalm 27:1-3

The  Lord  is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the  Lord  is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. Today’s message is encouraging us to have confidence in the Lord because of who He is and His sovereign powers. We fear only God and we are careful of evil men. If the question is raised, why must we have confidence in the Lord whom we cannot see, but man we do see? We are to have confidence in the Lord because He has proven Himself to be trustworthy and faithful to His promises. We have confidence in the Lord because He is the creator and sustainer of all, which includes all humanity, evil and good men. Evil men are under God’s control and in God’s time He will bring evil men’s deeds t...

“Be Still and Know that I am God”: Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. During this crisis of the coronavirus pandemic, I am trying to provide encouraging words that will uplift our spirits and refocus our minds for just a moment. Many of us are living through a time in our lives that we never imagine would happen. There are three points I want to highlight, and they are: (a) God is still in control. He knew these days were coming before the beginning of time. Nothing takes God by surprise. (b) This crisis will either bring us closer to God and we recognize Him for who He is and His sovereign powers, or it will drive away those who are already lost. (c) I truly feel that God is using this pandemic to clean house of the ungodliness and wickedness that is destroying our nation and world. Our country was built on Christian principles, and sin is presenting itself to give the appearances that overall, this country has walked away from its first love...

An Unwavering Faith: 2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: This message encourages all, whatever struggles we may be going through, to keep the faith as we fight the good fight. Remember God’s promises when He said that He will be with us until the end and that He will never leave nor forsake us-His children. Just as God was with Paul and Silas while in jail, just as He was with Daniel in Lion’s den and the Hebrews boys in the fiery furnace, He will be with you and me today. Paul suffered many difficulties in his life, but he always trusted and kept faith in God. We are encouraged to do likewise because God is the same today as He was during those times; what we must do is trust Him and never lose faith in Him. Lastly, allow me to encourage you by saying this is a season, and trouble doesn’t always. Keep the faith, stand firm on our convictions that God is near, and He will deliver us out of our problems.  Comments are welcome. White3285@sbcglo...

Be Brave and Steadfast in The Fight: Psalm 112:6-8

Surely, he shall not be moved forever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the  Lord .   His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies. Trying to make sense of the evilness that is bombarding our airways, one could become depressed and want to give up the fight for right and justice. Allow me to encourage you who are fighting for truth and justice, take heart the Lord is with you as right and justice will prevail in the end. Injustice may appear to be winning the battle, but know this that God is a just God and He is the righteous judge. All evil and wickedness will be punished. Reflect with me on this Biblical parable, when Jesus said let the wheat and tare grow together, and in the end, He (God) will do the separating. During these violent protests, the enemy is among us and are being identified and will be punished for their acts of...

A Life in Christ: John 15:1-17

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.   Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. What does it mean to live a life in Christ? Our scripture text tells us to abide in Christ and He will abide in us as He is the true vine and we are the branches from that vine. It is noteworthy to say, as we abide in the true vine, we will bear fruit, which is manifesting the righteousness of Christ. Another reason to live a life in Christ is that we are new creatures in Christ upon accepting Him as our Lord and Savior (2 Corinthians 5:17). Being a new creature in Christ we have been transformed by the renewing of our minds and no longer conforms to this world which is in contradiction to the will and ways of God (Romans 12:2). Believer...

A Disciple of Christ: Luke 9:23

And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. What is a Disciple? A disciple is a student, or learner, or a follower of Christ and His teachings. The twelve were called Jesus’ disciples, so is all Christians are called disciples of Christ. This is because all believers have committed him/herself to the teaching and life of Christ. Being a disciple of Christ is a lifestyle and lifetime commitment to the study of the Bible truths and teaching them to others as well as applying them to our lives daily. Is there a cost to Discipleship? Yes, there is, because there is a lifestyle change. The change includes a transformation from the heart; denying him or herself of the pleasurable things of life that we use to do especially if they do not align with God’s morals. Being a disciple of Christ is a blessing in that we are the light of the world shinning bright the glory of God. Comments are welcome. A...
