A Disciple of Christ: Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
What is a Disciple? A
disciple is a student, or learner, or a follower of Christ and His teachings.
The twelve were called Jesus’ disciples, so is all Christians are called
disciples of Christ. This is because all believers have committed him/herself
to the teaching and life of Christ.
Being a disciple of Christ is a lifestyle and lifetime commitment to the
study of the Bible truths and teaching them to others as well as applying them
to our lives daily.
Is there a cost to Discipleship? Yes, there is, because there is a lifestyle
change. The change includes a transformation from the heart; denying him or
herself of the pleasurable things of life that we use to do especially if they
do not align with God’s morals.
Being a disciple of Christ is a blessing in that we are the light of the
world shinning bright the glory of God.
